This diet accomplishes two things.

FIRST, it takes all the garbage out of your meals. Most people we've seen are overweight not because they eat fat all day, but because they eat sugars, salt and mostly carbohydrates all day. The Powerhouse Plan replaces all of that with protein.

SECOND, it lets your body know you're not trying to starve it. This is one of Nature's cruellest tricks; if you eat too little (for a limited period of time), your body reacts by going into a kind of "Conservation Mode." Like a bear hibernating, it slows down and does everything it can to maintain body weight.

The Powerhouse Diet sidesteps this with lots of little meals. You maintain a more normal metabolic rate, your body "discards" what it doesn't need, and you will tend to find the normal weight for your body.
